yes I know you said it was a tt.net meeting, but you did mention a BMW M3 Coupe (E46)

and this is a (the) BMW Forum after all.......

so where are IT'S pictures?

(I can feel a lock coming on)

It's up to you whether you lock it or not, but for your information (which you could have got by PM to save the hassle of my saying this....) the E46 M3 Cab didn't show...belonged to one of your members.

There would normally be a 645Ci there as well of course, but I took the RX400 today because a few guys had asked to see it, though I confess I didn't realise it was a condition of posting that I had to show a picture of a BMW.

I must have missed something in a plethora of other threads.

Mid-November at present, but that may get pushed out yet.

We have a major Christmas bash down in the Midlands in the first week of December and we're in danger of asking people to travel the length and breadth of the country in a short period, so the run might have to move.

Didn't you read the forum rules?

"When posting a meeting for cars other than BMW, one must post a picture of such a BMW vehicle, even if one doesn't turn up to said meeting"

Go on, check 'em out.

You tell 'em Pits!

Why would you want to post loads of Audi pics on a BMW forum? would Audi enthusiasts want to look at BMWs? I think not!

Posh VWs!

Who cares what cars they are, it's an invite to turn up. At least it's not a BMW meeting - if it were there's be bother as it isn't organised by a BMWCC member so no-one would be insured in case a flag pole fell on yer cranium or a bread-van ran over yer foot..

After all, this is a Bavarian-board forum. Aren't Audi's made in Bavaria? or is that entirely different to Germany?? <expecting to be told I'm wrong at any time..>

BTW, when is the Midlands meet and where? If it's over Xmas I might be in that area at the in-laws..

The Midlands meet is our 1st Birthday bash, in Nottingham probably.

Yawn at the other comment.

Quite.

Total Torque is obviously an Audi club so post the pics there, not on a BMW forum. I mean, sixteen pics of Audi A4's & A6's? They're good cars for sure but come on.

OK -

Audi's were originally manufactured in Zwickau which is 265Km from Bavaria

NSU was founded in 1873 in Riedlingen, on the Danube, and in 1880 moved to Neckarsulm which is 224 Km from Bavaria.

In 1969, Auto Union GmbH of Ingolstadt merged with NSU Motorenwerke AG, of Neckarsulm. and the new company bearing the name Audi NSU Auto Union AG, had its head offices in Neckarsulm

In 1985 Audi NSU Auto Union AG was renamed simply AUDI AG. To coincide with the change of name, the company's registered headquarters were transferred from Neckarsulm to Ingolstadt.

Ingolstadt is only 31Km from Bavaria.

But they still aren't BMW's

TotalTorque.Net has as many other brands as it does Audi's.  It's not a brand specific forum.

So why post 16 photos of Audis on a BMW forum (which is brand specific)?

I guessing the M3 you mentioned was Tim E's. Together with your 645 that's 2 BMWs, neither of which were there, so where's the interest for a BMW forum?

Maybe I should post news of BMW Club meets on the TT forum?

Umm, firstly, no the M3 wasn't Tim's.  Assumptions and all that, eh?

Secondly, the thread was created prior to the meet.  So, the pictures followed the meet as a matter of course.  Just because the BMW's didn't turn up, and because some people aren't as blinkered as others, I followed the thread up.  Simple really.

Feel free.  Nick does, as do others.  The message isn't hitting home is it?  TT.Net is not brand specific.  It's for car enthusiastics in general.

So that fell flat too, didn't it?

Ultimately, the answer is above - the thread was followed up.  BMW's or not.  If the majority on here are blinkered enough as to only want to see pictures of BMW's then I'll not post again, but I was under the impression that the Bavarian Boards were frequented by more open minded folk.

I think the majority of us are open-minded, but at the end of the day this is a (the?) BMW Forum, so you should expect a bit of joshing if you post pictures of an Audi meeting.

Please carry on posting, but next time you have a TT meet try to encourage a proper (i.e a BMW) car to turn up.

I'm with you on this one, people take things far tooooo seriously these days.

OK this is a BMW Bavarian forum. However anything which encourages any sort of gathering of like minded people who enjoy any sort of performance car be it BMW, Audi, Aston Martin, Ford Cossies etc has my vote.  I'd of gone to this myself or indeed any of the BMWNE club activities but work rotations/holidays seem to get in in the way.

If no BMWs turned up, who's faults that?  The open invitation is there for any BMWs to attend if they want to.

Coasting, keep it going mate.  Click a piccy of any old Bm at the traffic lights or the pub carpark next time!! You'll conform to the rules. LOL

Fantatsic!  I wasn't even there and I get dragged in!!!

The TotalTorque.net guys are a very nice, friendly, knowledgeable set of guys that have no brand loyalty of any sort, and welcome all, regardless of what car you drive.  I see no issue with extending meet invites, and publishing resulting photos from the meet.  As stated, Nick freely promotes BMWCC meets on TT.net and this causes no issues at all, and is weclome to do so.

At the end of the day, we are all petrolheads and these are merely sociable gatherings of likeminded people.  Had I turned up on the day (I was not due to attend this particular meet), then there would have been a picture of my car, but would that really have made a difference?

I am sure almost everyone use's different forums, and am all for cross-forum promotions.  Yes this is a BMW focused forum, but really?!?!?!?  I see no issue here at all.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavours last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Yes, I do post on Coastings forum.. and on PH.. and on E30Zone.. and on E36Coupe.. E21net.. BMW5.. and any number of trackday forums..
It gets me more customers and makes for a lively event.

The BavBoard were invited on this run and we shouldn't get upset that the photos dont include any of our cars.. its not like any of us actually turned up!

I hear what Simon is sayin re the rules.. perhaps we should have a library photo of an E30 M3 on the Karusell just incase we need to post up the obligatory BMW photo.

Guys.. don't give the lad so much grief.. a bit of a ribbing maybe, but thats all.
