some swine has kicked my drivers side mirror off,I have clipped it back on and now the electrics dont work,is there a technique for taking the glass off so I can get to the electrics, as I dont want the glass to break if I have to force it off,thanks in advance, Darren ------------- m3 evo |

Darren assumiong that your car is an E30, if you look at the underside of the mirror casing you will see a oblong hole, just above this hole is a white toothed clip that moves from left to right to lock the mirror in place, a small flat screwdiver does the job nicely. -------------

Managed to get the glass out with no damage and connected the wires back up ------------- m3 evo |

That's OK then, glad to here you've fixed it. If the wires had broken I've got a smashed mirror (standard E36 electric one) that you could have had to butcher for bits since you are in York. Just had to replace mine with a s/h one from Quarry as some burk demolished mine with theirs (resulting in smashed window as well).
