My mates E46 330's cd autochager won't eject the cartridge

Any idea what might cause this to happen?

Does it have power? Can you hear it whirring and trying to eject the cartridge when you press eject?...Assuming it's a genuine BMW change (made  by Alpine)?

Not sure if it is the same one as in the Zeds, but it is a fairly common problem on them.

I don't know what causes it, but the solution I've heard of to get the cartridge back out is to insert a credit card underneath the cartridge - the cartridge should just pop out.

I haven't tried it, so can't vouch if it works.

Mine occasionally does this not sure if its the same fault  but if i press on the cartridge while i press the eject button then release it normally comes out
