Finally got on the M Ladder anyway and this one is here to stay.

From what i can work out its an original Irish car, or at least its been here since near new. 53k miles and it was a lady that owned it until a year and a half ago. Has the Harmon Kardon system and the fully Electric roof and Tec 3 wheel.

Only mods are the 18inch E46 M3 Rep's, not crazy about them but they'll do for now, and its lowered too. Have a Milltek exhaust there for it and a Davef kit, few other bits too from my last one but i reckon ill keep this original.

Anyway picture paints a thousand words and all that! :

Now lets just hope its a nice summer!!

Fine machine - well wear. You're right - the E46 M3 wheels only really look good on an E46. The original E36 M3 wheels (avoid reps if at all possible) are the only way to go or else something along the lines of BBS LM's or CH's.....

Cheers lads..

Re the Wheels, im not crazy about them but prefered them to the Schnitzers that were on it, they look nice at night if not a little "bling". I havent a clue whats goin on it but i dont think i want to put OEM E36 M3 Wheels, i think ill put on a nice set of Alpinas or else if i can get a set of Breyton Magics or as you say BBS Wheels. A Strong contendor believe it or not is the 17" 328i Sport BBS Split rims. A real wolf in sheeps clothing then!

Is the 94 M3 in your sig a lie then?

Ben, I always thought volvo men were honest men and the only thing I ever held against you was that you never sought out an 480es turbo. (We used to have one of them)

Jasus, who can we trust now? Kbannon??? I think not!

Beautiful car - well wear. You're not the only one hoping for a nice summer, and I drive a Touring!

"De-lowering" the suspension (looks like it's trying too hard and there's not a lot wrong with the original M set-up) and a set of original period wheels is where I would go if I were as lucky as you!

....I think you'll see that the 94 vert is for breaking - it never turned a wheel on the road for Ben. The 480Es takes me back, was in one that belonged to a relation over the weekend - with only 60K on it, a real time warp car.

Yep, the 94 one was a crashed vert i bought last year but for various reasons i decided to break it and just buy a good one in the first place.

And Re the 480.... I never had a 400 series as they are wrong wheel drive!!

Definitely be raising the suspension... I have already damaged the centre box on bumps and speed ramps so itll have to be raised before any more damage is caused!

It's probably just on sh1te springs, but they tend to bring an early end to standard shocks as well. The fascination with lowering extremely competent cars to the point where they are less effective is absolutely beyond me - especially if you live in the Irish countryside.
The most extreme case I saw was on the N7 at Roscrea where there is a small section of rippled road (straight) and the front end of a civic was actually bunny hopping along as the suspension bottomed out with the wheels lifting off the ground - no hydraulics required - Death traps.

I'd say you'll have some sunburn by the end of the weekend Ben !! Should've gotten my Roadster...........
