Many thanks to everyone who turned out for this today. The cars all looked stunning and well done to the winners. (Pictures now added! thanks Neil)

Unfortunately the weather let us down! But as usual it didn't dampen the spirit of the occasion.

Thanks to Vardy's for hosting this for us and supplying us with endless cups of coffee/tea as the day got colder and wetter!

Thanks also to the judges whose job was a difficult one!

No doubt there will be lots of photos to follow.

Issy

Thanks to Issy for making the event happen, I know she worked really hard so that we all had a nice day as did others in the background.(canny book the weather tho eh ??)

Those of us who decided to head to Lauder to meet the NE England guys were disappointed that the weather was crap there too. I was given advanced warning that they were all going home and that their show was closed so we all just went for a small refreshment at a pub near Whitecraig, a nice blether was had and we headed off homeward at approx 4pm.

One comment (not a criticism and nothing personal) Due to comments on the forum leading up to the event at Vardys, Ian was quietly discouraged from entering his Subaru yet a Porsche managed to scoop a prize, I was a bit surprised by that(lovely as it is). Again nothing personal Robin, just an observation.

Looking forward to Moffat now.

Glad you all had a great day out

well done to John for winning at last and everyone else who entered

@Cambell..There was only ever one question regarding a non BMW car entering and it was me that said i would expect(Not defo) it to be a BMW entered, but i dont make the rules and it was never brought up via Committee, but if the person entering is a BMW Car Club member then i would think he can enter any thing he wishes as it`s his club, but i cant comment on Rob or Ian as i dont know the background

Hi everbody!

Thanks for a great day!! it was superb as always!!

Its a bit of a shame that i have seen to have become a liability though by having a stunning car that i have spent tens of thousands on (it seems)

Seems best return my prize, Or I will if asked donate £25 to the RNLI and bow out of being part of the bmw "group" if thats the way it goes,

I presume my lack of 4th place pics spins that way,

Please keep in mind i am a true car lover through and through, be it porsche, bmw or lada!

Cheers Robin.

Just back at the PC for the first time since the SnS.

I'd just like to re-iterate HUGE thanks to Issy for sorting the venue and taking on the stress on behalf of everyone

The other big thank you goes out to Hamish for stepping up and judging. The pair of us sat down a good wee while ago and tried to come up with a judging scheme which would do the quality of entrants justice. My feeling is that although it took a wee while judging, I'm happy the scheme stood up to scrutiny on the day and did the quality of cars and effort prepping justice. Hamish did all the hard work on the day, I just scribbled down the numbers and did the sums between rain drops. You may be seeing more of Hamish on the 'ring trip... but more of that on another thread.

Finally thanks to the entrants, other attendees and the venue. Roll on the rest of the busy season

Guys had a great day as you know this is only my 2nd event well 1 and a half. I would just like to say thank you to everyone for making me and her indoors (Allison) feel very welcome. (Can be strange meeting new people but wussnae).

Wicked noise off the Red M5 but the E46 M3 was stunning and what an engine bay.... He must sleep in there .

I wasn't going to put the car in as I wasn't sure what was happening so I'll even bring a couple of cloths next year to clean it.

Is there anyway I could see what my car actually got out of the 610 or what ever it was?

Cracking line up of cars even the new BMW Porker series.

Gary the car is looking good mate won't be long now till all the wee bits and bobs are finished eg New steering wheel .

So again thanks for the welcome.

Nice to put faces to the names.

You scored 482/630 placing 5th overall which is very creditable indeed!

Areas to work on next time to claw up the rankings are your wheels, wheel arches and in-car accessories.
If you're interested, I can bring your score sheet along to the next meet.

Looks like a good meet... Sorry I didn't make this one, haven't had a chance to look at that coolant leak yet

Oh and I know all about the weather being utter b****x, seeing that I rode the 75 miles to my folks house to borrow one of my dad's cars. Riding an R1 in that weather is more akin to torture than anything resembling fun but seeing that I had a trip to Sheffield organised for today I wasn't left with much choice with the 840 temporarily out of commission.

Maybe next time

I hate to be akward,

But why is there no posting up a few pics of the 4 place winning car (mine, porsche) still sorting them out nero? hmmm?? (as per pm)

after all, I WAS ASKED to enter,

I DID win 4th place,

but now its seems its become a liability

from this i can only assume i and whatever car i have (and it wont be boring whatever it is) will be unwelome at any future events

you may wish to bear in mind that not everybody stays with bmw, as NERO was saying to me on sunday, " a lot of his friends have moved to aston martins" but its still good to see them" quote.

just not porsches it would seem?

I have now disposed of my " judas prize " and will make a donation to the RNLI at the weekend.

Please stop this drivel right now.

- We have no entry rules other than only a BMWCC member may win the shield. So anyone who wished to enter on the day could - I personally handed Robin his entry form. Looks like I'll need to sort that for next year to prevent this type of dross but this year I was focussed on the judging criteria. It's my fault I missed the Pete/Ian posts earlier regarding the Scooby entry as the Scoob would have been welcome - I'll try not to let that happen again.

- NeRo is a very busy man. He's put up those photos he has prepped - unsurprisingly on a BMW forum from a BMW event, his primary focus was posting BMW pictures. He's particular about his work and wants posted images to be as he wishes so there's no point rushing someone who does this as a hobby and favour to us all.

Any further sniping on this issue will result in thread lockage, post removal or bans. It demeans us all.

Thanks Dunc, well put - with all my hobbies, I don't have
time to work

My Laptop, on which I do all my photography stuff on, is currently away
for repair and all the batch tools I normally use are not set up on my PC -
therefore I'm having to do each photo manually, which is taking the time.

At the moment, I also have 225 photos from the Highlander weekend and
340 photos from the Llandow weekend currently WIP. I'm also currently
compiling a DVD of everyones photos from Llandow.

So apologies to those who don't think I'm working quick enough. I will
get them done, as well as a web page on BMWCCScotland, just bear with
me

Robin, mate you are more than welcome to compete in this club especially with your current car. Simply stunning.

I hope i did not offend you as I was only having a wee laugh about not getting anything (apart from a torch).

I only entered to keep the numbers up and to give me a target to get my car up and running.

As Dunc has said we are an all encompassing club with no airs and graces, Well you would all know that anyway talking to me with my tourettes
