Lads ... I have an unusual problem.  I put a CD into the CD player of my 320i E90 yesterday and it seems to be stuck.  The CD went in all the way, but the player is saying "no cd" and it refuses to eject when I press the eject button.  Its the BMW professional series cd/radio that comes standard on the 320i M-Sport pack E90.

A minor problem I know, but annoying none the less.

Any ideas?

Well I think you have no choice than removing the unit and opening it. But since your car is recent you cd player might be covered by guaranty?

Unless the CD itself is bent, there is not reason why it should saty stuck, unless the unit is damaged or another piece of something is obstructing the CD.

Is there a small hole on the side like on PC's cd player? If so you can try using a thin niddle or something to press it.

This happened to me not so long ago, tried everything apart from taking the head unit out, then forgot about it for a few days as i was driving the factory pickup, then when i got back into my car i tried it and it came out mmm. unsure what made it stick though.

Sorry i cant be of any help.

Thanks for the replies guys.

@fooljam, there is no small hole in the cd player.  The cd was a new cd so should not be damaged in any way.

@ blackout, looks like I'll have to wait to see if I'm as lucky as you!

Anyone else had this problem or can anyone else suggest any alternative solutions?

I had a similar problem on another CD Player I had...

Cd was stuck and I could hear the eject motors whirring away, but no CD coming out...

What I did...

Get another CD handy, press the eject button and GENTLY attempt to slip the CD into the cd slot...DONT FORCE IT THOUGH...

The reason this worked for me was because the CD had slightly jumped off the loading rails and when I pushed the other CD in a little bit, it knocked the stuck one back onto the rails and ejected it...

Give it a try...but be gentle and DONT FORCE THE CD IN IF IT WONT GO...

Gently remove the CD player from the dash...

Fig 1. Carefully take the base plate off.

Fig 2. Using a screwdriver pry back the top cover.

Fig 3. Using a little pressure, pop off the facia plate.

Fig 4. Remove jammed CD's.

Refitting is the opposite of all the above.

Problem solved!

You. Currently doing Inspection I from only €900.00 & Inspection II from €1495.00 excluding VAT. You'll have to supply the tools though, I only have a Black N' Decker Screwdriver at the moment.

By the example of the workmanship it looks more like a "Sonic-Screwdriver" to me
