Just checked my oil in the E46 ( paranoid after last week  )& it needs a spot or two , the question is when it was serviced by the garage before i got it did they use "Fully Synthetic " or " Semi "  I have a gallon of fully synthetic in the garage . Will whatever is in there mix with my oil ??? -------------  |

Apparantly if you take a bit of oil off your stick and burn it fully syn will smell like popcorn

i would contact the garage if possible to see what type they used, i think semi and fully can mix no problem, but i would check the weight etc. whether 5/40 or 5/30 etc hope this helps, or just do another oil and filter change.
