Hi there,

123 registrations in June, but we banned 36 of these for all the normal reasons.

Anyone that wants to know the naughty URL's please PM a 'mod' remembering to enclose the usual amount of folding

So, this means a nett member gain of 87 in the month, which is better than last month, giving us a total - posting - membership at the end of July of 9753

Here's a big  to all the newbies, please remember to help them and treat them gently,

and.... enjoy the forum everyone

But of that amount, how many are 'active' members, i.e. have contributed in the last couple of months?

That's not too bad then. I often assumed that of the people who do join, only 1 or 2 actually stay and take an interest. As you say, a lot get banned and I'm sure there are a couple who are probably just being nosey or find it's not what they want but that's not bad stats I guess!

Do as many people leave as sign up though? I'm sure no-one actually de-activates their account but you must get people dropping off the posting stats?

That's inevitable on any forum. You will get active folk and people who make a quick pit stop during their lives when something goes wrong or they are looking for some info. However, that's why forums exist.

It does sem to have dropped off a little over the past year but I'm happy to say I think we quality rather than quantity. I have seen so many forums where they are either too 'clicky' i.e. if you don't fit in you get ignored or ridiculed or there is just arguments and abuse flying about. None of that takes place here thankfully!
