As my youngest thought it would be good to pull my new 450 quid laptop onto the floor, breaking it, and my pc has corrupt system32 files, I thought i'd use my Playstation 3. Not only is it totally awesome with games but it can hold photos, videos, plays DVD and bluray AND doubles up as an emergency pc/web browser too! What a piece of kit!
If you can justify it then you have to have one.

Well I have to admit (back on my pc now after re--installing windows!) it is only basic. My email provider (AOL) goes into basic mode and this forum cannot show icons or smilies but does show pics. It asks if I want to download plugins for moving images suchas animations in adverts etc but as of yet cannot get it to install flashplayer so no streaming video. Also, with having no heyboard it's an on screen keyboard so you have to select each letter with the controller! it took me about 10-15 minutes to write the first entry on this post!

But with no pc or laptop and my wife being an internet junkie (ebay and facebook for hours upon end!) it kept her quiet and meant I can go on here and check my emails.

Now I have my pc back it's not so bad though the hard drive is fooked and keeps corrupting files. Just waiting for the laptop to be collected for repair!

My wife treated me to mine after we got nearly a grand in tax credits we'd been short paid. Once we got the PS3 I told her there's no point in having it unless it's HD so we also bought a 42inch HD plasma telly!

The graphics on the PS3 are like nothing I've ever seen before. One of the games I have, you can see the sweat beading down a soldiers face and in that is the reflections of his surroundings! you can see buildings in the chrome wheels of a car, lights flowing across the bonnet as you drive down the road and as for explosions, it's like watching a Terminator film. I have it through 5.1 surround speakers too and sometimes you feel like there is someone behind you.

I think a media centre, fab games machine and a blu-ray/DVD player which you can browse the net on, #300 is a snip!
