Hi Lads,

I was wondering could you help me and give me some advice on this matter I have. I went to replace the two front tyres of my car today as they have worn very badly on the inside of both tyres and very little wear else where. So I thought I would only have to replace them and get the car realigned. But when I was getting the tyres replaced I was told by the Tyre Centre that the two front bushings were worn and I was advised to replace each of the wish bones by a specialist as it is not advised just to change the bushings as they will not last very long. So I was wondering how much would this cost and where to get it done etc and all info would be very much appreciated. Also I forgot I have been noticing lately that the car seems to do 'Fish Tail Like Movements' if thats the right explaination for it when I go over uneven surfaces etc. Would this be another cause of the worn bushings???

Could well be, I imagine they're well gone by now. Changing them and a laser alignment should have a massive improvement

I think the tyre shop may have things slightly twisted here, as the bush, which is at the back of the wishbone can be replaced, new wishbones are not supplied with the bush. It is the ball joints on an alloy wishbone (if fitted to your E46) which cannot be replaced.
