Im looking into getting myself a set of coilovers for my CSL. I dont track the car, but would like to tighten things up a bit, and go pretty low. I dont want it to end up a really rough ride either though. For Bilstein: they're monotube (though I dont know if thats any benefit to me) For KW: they're CSL specific Against Bilstein: Not CSL specific Against CSL: not monotube Suggestions?

If you go lower you will loose suspension travel. To stop your suspension bottoming out with less travel it needs to be harder. As deeper the harder it must get.
Many people who lower just for looks end up using silly long bumpstops to stop the suspension bottoming out which results in funny "hopping around" cars you can see on the motorway. Going coilover will gain a bit of the lost travel back, but there is a limit to things. I have no CSL, so can not recommend any of the kits you listed. There is anothter kit you haven't listed: AST Suspension is a complex thing to change and there is no such thing as free lunch. You go mega low, it will be harsh. Or it won't work properly. You are driving a 340bhp car, don't compromise the handling just for looks. ------------- E61 520d, slow and buzzy but my wallet likes the mpg..... |
