Rolling road i fancy a shot of that. 25th hmm too close to my MOT, so i don't know.

BUT, looking at the 2009 events list are we not haveing our own rolling road event? as i don't see anything on the list.

If i had the choice, i'd rather do a rolling road at our own club meet than someone elses event.

Don't hold your breath, previous 2 attempts have FAILED! either due to names added to forum list then predictably pulling out when payment is required or the Rolling Road centre just doesn't reply to calls or emails (apparently).

looking back it's been 3 years since our last RR day and if it hadn't been for personal reasons taking up so much of my time this year I would've endeavoured to organize an event of this type.
it would be great to see you all appearing for the AGM next month to show your support and I will certainly make it my aim to set up a RR meet soley for beemers in 2009.

I would be well up for that.  I would be very interested to see how many horses I have lost.  Remember the Top Gear Challange Italian cars for less than the price of a second hand Mondeo, that was interesting.

Awwww

Why?

Have they had automatic transmissions ruined on their rig?  Or does the autobox hinder the way the rig works?

Originally posted by Pete330 Pete330 wrote:

Why, are they to big for the rig, can't be to powerful if they are opening it up to M5's say.  Or would they breakdown?

afaik they're the same thing, steptronic just allows you manual override of the automatic box (within reason) using buttons, paddles or a lever?

Posted By: ally
Date Posted: 29-November-2008 at 19:29
Yes but AFAIK the reason they don't like auto boxes is because the car has to stay in 4th gear or something like that? That can be done using manual mode with the steptronic

You are right but I don't think the steptronic automatic will let you pull off in 4th.  1st, 2nd and 3rd (for winter) but not 4th.  Will try tomorrow.

I'll never buy another Autosmart product after their Kril f'ked the look of my engine and bay. They were also little to no help in removing this yellow krud. In my personal opinion, one to be avoided.

Most if the Autosmart stuff is quite good, I think you've just had a bad experience...

See you Sunday Pete, that's if you're still going? Ian and I are going to take a wee blast through!
