My car was heading for 123,456 miles recently and I reset the trip counter at 789 miles before this figure (couldn't be bothered doing the calcs at this hour). Anyway, I actually reset the mileage 1 miles after the countdown deadline figure

1234567880

If I keep it serviced and nobody else tries to kill her, maybe in a million miles I can try again!

KB, thank you for making me look far less odd than my wife thinks I am!  She thinks I spend too much time thinking about numbers.

The level of premeditation that went in to trying to set that up is indeed impressive!

Yeah but because I forgot to reset it when I was driving shows a lower level of commitment that you presumably have

You should be given a medal for trying to get that display.

Instead of waiting a million miles why not buy another BM with 120,000 on the clock and give it another bash?

That's given me the idea now.

Mine's on 010700 212.3 - just got to get it to 012345 678.9

So that's 012345 - 678.9 = 11666 before I reset the trip meter (or next Friday by my current average weekly mileage).

I bet I forget or screw up the trip meter when I put fuel in. At least I'll only have to wait another 4 years to get it to do 123456 789.0 ;)

Anyone know how make a Z4MC alert me when I'm close?me when I bmi_SafeAddOnload(bmi_load,"bmi_orig_img",1);//-->

I went 38,888 yesterday which scared me as I've only had the car 7 months and I've done nearly 14,000 miles in it!

I suppose it is a good indication that BMWs are well built as that is now a fair few well over the 100,000 mile mark and still going strong.

20-30 years ago you were looking at re-building back axles and gearboxes at 70,000 miles.

Nearly at the 160,000 marka and still going strong though I'm sure my ghostly misfire is slightly worse though still ellusive enough not to provide any clues but still pulls like a train!
