Subject: Neff Electric Hob - How do I turn it on??

I feel ridiculous even asking but...
We've just moved into a house which has a Neff Electric Ceramic hob fitted.
All the buttons are touch pads on the surface rather than dials you turn.
It looks really nice but the only problem is there's no instruction booklet and we can't turn it on! The model number is T1323. A link to a picture of it is below.
Can anyone please tell us how this is supposed to turn on?
Thanks
John

If its locked I believe you have to hold the power button down for a few minutes.

There are downloadable manuals for all the T1323 hobs try this link.

Just to mention: A lot of new hobs only work with a steel or iron pot. Friend of mine installs kitchen stuff and says people are always calling back saying they dont work but it's just because they're using the wrong type of pot.
Check if it is an induction hob.

Found this:

Because the heat is generated in the pot or pan itself and not in the cooker, the surface of the hob is only heated by the pot itself so it does not get so hot. As soon as the unit is switched off or the pot is removed heat generation stops. No heat is generated by or on the hob unless there is steel or iron placed upon it, even if it is switched on. The heat is generated when a pot or pan is placed anywhere on the hob. A pan does not have to be precisely placed the way it does over a burner or element in a conventional hob.

As Steven said, manuals can be got online if you have the correct model number details.

One thought though - does it have a built in clock?  Is the clock set?

If not, try setting the clock and see if it works then.  I came across this with an over that my parents bought (not a Neff).  If the cooker was switched off at the main switch the time was lost.  Until any time was set on the clock after switching on the main switch the oven wouldn't start.

btw. their website isn't overly enlightening, is it?

Did you work it out, or are you still microwaving everything?

I've just seen this thread again now after a few days.
The place I work blocks this forum now so I can only check in at night!

Thanks for all the replies lads.
To the technical responses: It is getting power, I have the instruction booklet, there's no clock, have worked out how to remove the child lock but there's no hint of life from it.

@ Misty: still not worked out, had a lovely roast cooked for me tuesday night , take away wednesday night. Must call Neff tomorrow

@ Rhys: She used to check into this forum a long time ago when she got her e30 first but when her then workplace blocked access she drifted away. Hence I should be safe...

I think the missus bit was aimed at pitsy being chauvinistic, not like him at all .

Friend of mine has one of them (induction hob)and you have to hold down power symble couple of seconds and use pans with iron in them as it's all to do with being magnetic so I'm told. Doe's it beep at you if you put something metalic on it?

Why?  Seems to me that things are working out just fine without a technical solution!
