Can anyone help please?
I have 1993 520, with an intermittent electrical problem. Recently, the fuel gauge, temp. gauge, speedo & rev counter all stopped working, then, just as quickly they started again, but with the bottom row of warning lights flashing. If I switch the ignition on and off, then that seems to sort things out, until it does it again. Please can anyone help with this, I know electrical problems can be a nightmare, but just having a clue where to look would help. Thanks |

I would try the fusible links first as they are probably the cheapest/easiest to do. http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/maintenance/electrical/fusible_link.htm - http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/maintenance/electrical/fusible_link.htm covers it well, though on my '95 the links aren't where they say they are. ------------- 1995 520i SE |

Sounds like it could be that the SI board batteries are about to die.They spawn all manner of weird problems. -------------

The later E34 Models 90> Do not have SI Batteries.
I would try removing the dash and making sure that the connectors at the back are firmly seated. Miles -------------
