As a few of you know, I've had a fair bit of work done to the GT recently so thought I'd celebrate with a decent clean and some pictures. Hope you like.

New boot, new rear panel, respray front bumper and nose cone. Rebuild splitter which can now be extended / retracted on car as all the ironmongery is shiny and new (for now...). KW v2, polybushed, top mounts, a smidge of front neg camber. Delighted. Skint.

Looks great Duncan. The pic of the front end poking out from behind a wall (or similar object) is the money shot.

How's the ride comfort with the V2's and Polybushes?
I'm toying with a set of coilovers among other things for some track work in the future.

TBH I'm delighted. The v2s are adjustable so I've guddled about with the front shocks from full soft (great in town, wobbly on the m'way) to full hard (boing in town and wonderfully solid on the m'way) and found a happy compromise. Not felt any need to adjust the rears from KW's suggested setting. Car really inspires confidence on corners now (the neg camber has helped with turn in too).

I did the suspension as my first trip to Knockhill REALLY did not inspire confidence in the car's 112k+ mile suspenion. Am looking forward to trying again as it is now

Lovely work and money very worthwhile spent .  Shocks sound very nice - nice to be able to adjust the hardness/softness of the ride.

Lovely work there dunk! Looks really fresh!

How about 10mm spacers on the front? For some reason the wheels look like they are tucked in to the arches, particularly in this pic...

Defo considering spacers mate. Just need to do some reading on pros/cons and see what's on the market. Suspect the neg camber is exaggerating the 'tucking'.

Rest easy Neil - 'debated'. Past tense. Not going to happen.

I was just rattling ideas about to minimise the chance for rust to get a grip on the boot. The old ond had gone under the roundel, number plate lights, number plate screws and the left corners. Not forgetting the usual boot lock cracking.

They're for winter. Going back on in a couple of weeks I fear if the temp keeps dropping...

I think so. I'm delighted with the way she handles now and am glad the car's rust free again (for a while LOL)

Menzies BMW. Perhaps an unusual choice to stay main dealer but I really rate the bodyshop manager there - Alan Walters - and he always does right by me. He's also one of the few dealer staff left who actually recognises my car for what it is.
