Hi there.

I'm pretty certain that you won't be able to do just the ECU swap.  You can do a full Motronic swap, by swapping cylinder head,  inlet and exhaust manifolds, fuel rail, injectors and engine loom, ECU etc.  It's considered by many to be a worthwhile modifcation, you get the higher compression early engine with the later, smoother, more reliable injection system.

The ETK lists different radiators pre and pst facelift.

hi! i, turned off the caps lock! my apologies, my car is the early" high compressision",1987, 9.7 to 1 model, l just wondered if there was a plug n play 35 pin connector ecu, which gave less trouble with its hybrid switch for ignition amplifier, than the original motronic 1.0, no. 0261 200 073, i believe ecu 081 which was around the same time as my cars fitment, was plug n play, but was it less troublesome, re its internals? best regards tommy. ps great site.
