Hi,

 

seeing as the latest nct rule is if your air bag light is on in the car its a straight fail, does anyone have a lend of a code reader to find out the fault. on 3 day week cant afford stealer.

I have one, but I'm Galway based.

If you have anyone down this way they can bring it up to you, and you can send it back down when someone is coming back this way.

Fey got it today, got a code to do with the capacitor. Googled and said
the location was under the rear seat. Took out seat and could not find
anything.

I think that BMW used to solder something down there.

Have you searched the 5 serie forum for answers; faults with the drivers seat in the pre-facelift e39 is a common problem and will have been dealt with numerous times.

Cross reference the fault codes with the list as shown below as sometimes the codes as read by the scanner may not be telling you what is precisely wrong.
