Just signed up so thought it'd be rude not to post an introduction! - I've got a 1998 BMW Z3 2.8 (M52B28) which I've had for a little over a year now - it was stock when I first picked it up, but I've made some changes to it over the last year...

Nice motor mate except for one thing, your radio appears to be tuned to talentless crap, retune it to Radio 2 and you'll be set.

Nice motor and mods, welcome to the forum

obviously not many Radio 1 fans on here then!

to be fair.. and in my defence those pics were taken the first day I installed it and were taken on whatever had been stored at the time.. I mostly listen to my iPod - although some of the music on this could be equally questionable!..

Welcome mate and I have to say, I'm loving the Dials. Bring
the car bang up to date, would like to do that to mine but
the whole dash. Would be some job and I'd be scared of
fcuking it up if I'm honest.

LOL!!! - I should have it all finished and installed this weekend (weather and time permitting!) and I'll do a write up so you can see what's involved once done!.. not too difficult if I'm being honest.. just fiddly - but it was one of the things I wanted to change on the car when I got it as the stock lighting is frankly woeful!.. almost as bad as my old MK2 MR2 (although not quite!! )

Radio two is horrid now we've got the ginger whinger on brekfast, and somebody I cannot even remember on drivetime (also horrid, far to modern).

I listen to smooth radio (used to be saga .......yes THAT saga lol)

Anyway, I may just be getting old (not as old as Nero though)

Welcome to the form

P.S. ..... what's an ipod ?

I was told off by my teenage daughter the otherday for saying I'd downloaded a record from I tunes, she says they aren't records anymore !

Sounds like a record to me !

She was also horrified to know that she had this "record" on her I pod, but has removed it now, as it just isn't "on" to be listening to something her old dad likes lol

Eventually got round to installing the dials in the car - here's a sneak peek just now - I'll take some better pictures when it's dark tonight.  Overall pretty happy with how they've turned out, not bad for a first attempt! - I'll get round to doing a write up over the weekend if I get a chance - some quick pics just now:

it was dark here (almost! at 11.30 p.m.!) so I went out and took some more pictures to try and give a better idea of what they look like at night (they actually match the stock lighting pretty well... I think so anyway! :) ):

I thought it was time to post some updates showing progress over the last few months...

EXTERIOR UPDATES:

I always wanted to retrofit the official BMW roll hoops and when a complete kit came up with all trim pieces - I couldn't turn it down:

I then invested in a BMW hardtop and hardtop fitting kit to get me through the winter months! (this has now been removed and in storage - hopefully I've not jumped the gun a bit! LOL!):

This weekend I also painted and installed the ///M side gills that I've had sat here for about 8 months+!! LOL! :

I've also got ///M mirrors sitting here which I need to paint and install when I get a chance and get more paint!! as I ran out and the Halfords paint I bought was a terrible match!!

INTERIOR UPDATES:

I received and installed my Storm Motorwerks weighted brushed stainless V1 short shift knob, Storm Motorwerks handbrake cover and button and Storm Motorwerks lighter blank:

I'm also in the process of getting custom beige leather gaiters made for the gearknob and handbrake.

Today I received my re-padded and recovered MTech steering wheel which I've just installed:

SPEC:
(*) Padded
(*) Black perforated leather sides
(*) Black plain leather top and bottom
(*) Beige stitching

PICTURES:

OTHER UPDATES:

Was sick of the garbage radio reception on the Mangowalk stubby aerial I had - so decided to invest in a BMW Sport Antenna - not cheap, but looks a lot better and is better at picking up stations!:

http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/Z3%20Aerial/SportAntenna1.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/Z3%20Aerial/SportAntenna2.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/Z3%20Aerial/SportAntenna11.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/Z3%20Aerial/SportAntenna10.jpg">

I also decided to install an ITG Pro filter drop in panel filter:

http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20ITG%20FILTER/photo1.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20ITG%20FILTER/photo2.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20ITG%20FILTER/photo3.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20ITG%20FILTER/photo5.jpg">

I then got round to amassing all of the parts required for my brake overhaul - in the end I decided to go for:

BRAKE PADS = EBC Yellow Stuff (front and rear)
BRAKE DISCS = Brembo HC vented front and Brembo HC OEM rear
BRAKE HOSES = Goodridge stainless steel braided lines

http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20Brakes/Z3Brakes1.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20Brakes/Z3Brakes2.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20Brakes/Z3Brakes3.jpg"> http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq19/pangster79/BMW%20Z3%20Brakes/Z3Brakes4.jpg">

And I've also got all of the parts needed for a cooling system overhaul I have planned in (waterpump with metal impeller, thermostat, thermostat housing, gaskets etc) as well as all of the other parts required for a major service including all fluids, spark plugs etc and have also decided to fit an Earls Performance braided stainless steel clutch line.
