Guys

I have a chance to get some wheels with winter tyres fitted for my E60 , looking for advice if they will fit my car OK.. current tyres 245/40 R18 (520 M sport) possible replacements 225/50 R17 (think these are from a 520D SE)

thoughts and difficulties??

If your oil burner is an auto, tread (sorry no pun intended) carefully.

Messing with the rolling radii of the wheels can upset all the systems that use the signlas from the wheel sensors, transmission, cruise control, speedo, ABS, ASC....

Check out that the 520dSE or whatever the source wheels and tyre combo are an approved BMW combo.  If they are on the BMW options list then you are fine.

Just remember to reset the tyre pressure warning system after you get them fitted and you should be o.k.
