Polishing out scratches from glass?

My wife has managed to scratch the drivers side window of her Ford Focus from bad use of a plastic ice scraper.  I have no clue how she has managed to do it with the same ice scraper that I use...

As I have a Megs 220 machine polisher to remove scratches from paintwork, is there a different type of pad and polish combo I can use to try and lessen the effect of the scratches on glass?

Any suggestions?
