hi folks.. ive not been about much for a while.. been at
the odd show over the past year & met a few face's while
at them but apart from that ive been busy
with family matters.

sorry for this slightly dampening post but ive got to
know a lot of you guy's on here over the yrs and just
thought i'd explain as to why i went very quiet.

ive been helping my dad take care of my mum since January
2010 when she was diagnosed with cancer
but sadly after her 14 mth battle she lost her fight 2
wks ago to the disease. this came as a massive shock to
my whole family & doctors as there was no warning of how
bad she had got. my mum will always be the strongest
woman ive ever known & she proved this even more over the
past few mths.
it's been a very sad time but we know mum is free of pain
& she needs to fight no more.

PS: i'll probably be looking for a space on many Scottish
shows (if available) this coming season, just got to
catch up again with some cleaning with my E30 as it's had
a busy year on the roads.

cheers guy's
Ian x

Aww Ian its great to see you back and I am so sorry to hear your news. I however know exactly how you feel as I went through the same thing with both my mum and my dad over an 18 month period and its awful but as you say she is now free from pain.

It will be good to see you so get you name down for whatever shows you want. Welcome back

Ian - my condolences on your loss.  I too can identify with how you feel.  We lost my mother last month after a long fight with dementia, parkinson's and some other complications.

No matter how much time you think you have to prepare for the loss its never enough but it will be a comfort in due course to realize that you did what you could to help ease her plight and suffering through her illness.

thanks for the kind words folk's. my family have never experienced loosing someone so close, i don't think the
shock of how quick it took my mum away will ever leave any
of us.

Hi Ian, glad to have you back mate and very saddened to
hear of your dear loss. My thoughts and prayers are with
you and your family. Like many I know your pain all too
well.

I'm sorry I never got the chance to stop and have a chat
on Sat when I passed but i had my dad in the car.
Unfortunately with working away I won't get to many meets
or shows this year but the next time I'm home I'll stop
by and take you for a spin in the motor.

I know these words will seem empty at the moment, but it
does get easier, the best thing you can do as a family is
stick together and support each other by thinking of all
the great memories you have of your mum.

take care mate
