Hi, I am new here and looking for help from anyone who can tell me what part I need to replace the headlight washer on my coupe. I notice that my washer bottle has quickly gone empty in a day. I discovered that the driver side headlight washer assembly is gone (the thing that pops out under the headlight see photo). The actual cover is not there anymore and that water is leaking out of a round plactic assembly. My question is what parts do I need to replace this? I am sorry if this is not the right forum for this, please move it to the right one. Any help is appreciated. Thank you all! Racingzone  |

It's a common problem, the leak is down to the telescopic washer on either side. I've just replaced one of mine and now I need to do the other side. The parts you need are the following:- Item 6 and item 2 on this link to the OEM. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=EN52&mospid=47673&btnr=61_1087&hg=61&fg=45" rel="nofollow - OEM repair page If you've lost that cover you'll need a new one, they come unpainted though but are easy to do, they just clip onto the washer jet head. The headlight needs to come out which is fairly easy but can be fiddly. When you get the new parts its a case of push and pull to get it all together BUT beware, it is plastic and easy to break when push fitting the parts together so what I did was to remove the old tele washer, disconnect the pipework and put it together on the bench then offer it up to the car as when I first repaired mine I was a bit heavy handed and the connection broke letting all the water out again. With the new arm, where the connector piece goes (item 2) you lift up a small plastic bracket/safety clip, then push the connector in, which in theory once home allows the plastic clip/bracket to reseat, however mine didn't, so I removed this plastic safety type clip, put the connector in, then put the safety clip back in and all was well. Sounds complicated but its not. I had been doing this repair the hard way.....with the arms still attached to the headlight assembly. What a pain in the ARSE !!!!
