I have a 1990 M3. Completely standard car, just over 100,000 km, cloth interior, FSH, 2 owners (I've owned it since '96), pretty much mint condition. No rust on scuttle panel (or anywhere else)
Thinking about selling it as i work overseas and just doesn't get used much.
Totally out of touch with values and just wondering what would be a realistic price ?

If it's as you describe and has, then I would put it up at £20K.

It is a sellers market for these cars - The right price will sell quickly otherwise might take a while to sell. The market for these cars has a number of speculators.

I just sold mine for the money I wanted for it and sold and driven away within 5hrs of the advert going live - They couldn't leave quick enough.

I am happy, the car became a burden to me emotionally - as a second car was not getting used, lost the use of a garage, so open to the elements, insurance, tax, upkeep etc.

I had the car since 1999 and had a lot of fun and admirers a plenty.

Perhaps one day I will join the M family again.

I agree the prices in recent years have rocketed. I think somewhere between £18-£20k is the area you should be looking at.

I have one similar to yours (bit higher miles) but would agree that something coming towards £20K is where you want to be looking.

Obviously, there are a number of "traders" in the market looking for a bargain. They would not pay that sort of figure because that is about where they would look to be selling it.

Was yours the Sterling Silver H'reg car that was advertised on Pistonheads?

It was and was back up for sale a week later, only looking for £13K. I have wondered if there has been much interest and how many hours they have spent on dealing with potential buyers, the number of test drives etc. I know one thing, the seller will not drop the price.
