Hello, i own an e36 328 1999 touring.
My central locking started playing up. First it was the drivers door lock and now the rear 2 doors do not open with the central locking. Its only the boot and the front passanger door that works with teh central locking. I have checked the connection under the passanger seat but it is ok.

I don't think all three door acuators have failed at the same time so think it will be the central locking control module. Is this just a direct swap for the control module. I have read up its the zke iv module. Is it a case of a straight swap with a working one or will it need programmed.

I have been stumped on this and need it working for the family .

Thanks, Ross

Is there any noise from the doors when you try to lock/unlock using the key?

It appears remote central locking plays up when cold, had same problem with Nissan Primera and others.
Use the key, it usually works.

Maybe post not clear enough!! Was using drivers door lock, though same problem occurs when using remote.
I am 99% sure that its the central locking module that needs changed.
I have bought a new one, just not sure if its a straight swap or if the module will need programmed
