Subject: Beamish - BMWcc day 27th April 14
Date Posted: 26-January-2014 at 21:32
Following a successful event in 2013 we have once again been invited by our friends in the North East region to attend their BMW Car Club day at  Beamish.
For those of us who have not been Beamish is a world famous open air museum. It tells the story of life in North East England in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times. It stands in 300 acres of beautiful County Durham countryside. Within the site you will find Pockerley Old Hall, The Town, Rowley Station, The Fairground, Home Farm and The Pit Village. With so many things to see, Beamish is a wonderful day out for people of all ages, with free trams and buses to get you all over the museum.
At the end of the day those wishing to stay a bit longer and display there cars in the town centre for a great photo opportunity.
The cost of this day out is only Â£8.00 per head if your in a BMW, normal admission is £18 per adult and £10.00 per child, great value!
Entry is pay on the day at the gate into the show field, entry is from 9.30am till 11.00am arrive after 11.00am and unfortunately it's full price and park in the public car park. The only stipulation Beamish is strict about is there is no movement of vehicles between 11.00am and 4.00pm due to public safety.
Beamish is about two miles west off junction 63 of the A1M. Address is Beamish Museum, Beamish, County Durham, DH9 ORG. Beamish web site  http://www.beamish.org.uk/" rel="nofollow - www.beamish.org.uk
So please add your name to the list if you would like to attend.
We can also look into an overnight stay if there is the demand for that so if you wnat it to be an overnighter please state beside your name!

Looking forward to it.

Do we want to meet up and convoy on Saturday ?

If so, I'm suggesting Granada Services at the East of the Edinburgh City Bypass at 13:15 for a 13:30 departure (Give or take Robins work finish time).

With a leisurely drive, we should be signing in to the hotel between 15:30 - 16:00. remember and have your £1.60 for The Tyne Tunnel.

Oh yeah, remember your (charged up and on Channel 2) walkie talkies aswell

If you stay on the A1M you don't need to go through the Tyne tunnel

Best wat is straight down A1 come off at junction 64 then follow A195 left at 1st roundabout and hotel will be 100 yards on the left. Much easier than Tyne tunnel :-)).

I'll be leaving sunny Clydebank about 12ish so will be out your way bout 1.00ish.

Remebering the walkie talkie might be difficult as I don't have a scooby where it is

Don't think we will manage to make the meet up point outside Edinburgh as our departure time at this end is still a bit uncertain so don't wait for us. we will take the radio and keep it on just in case we are not too far behind ( and probably lost as usualConfused! )
Anyone got a plan regarding cleaning the cars down there since it looks a bit wet for the journey down?

Well today is the day we are heading off! Am I ready? Eh no. Car has not been cleaned as I did start it as I cleaned the wheels when the brakes were getting fitted! I also hoovered the inside and removing the tar then I took the lurgy so have been unwell since Thursday and couldn't finish it so it's not really looking the way I would want it to for a show! But hey at least I'm going!
Looking forward to the show but even more so the catch up tonight with everyone! See you all soon

We wondered if you would go back that way. We had to stop for food near holy island and bought fuel to get us home. Didn't stop at Washington services cause I thought it would be too expensive but the gulf station in the middle of nowhere was £1.59.9 for super unleaded !! Filled up back home with shell at £1.37.
