Any peeps out there with a compressor in their shed/garage/man cave that you use to run some air tools on?
I'm looking at buying a compressor to run an 1/2" drive impact gun for doing some of the bigger work on the car, wheel bolts, suspension bolts, brake bolts etc.
Any suggestions on what make/model?
An air gun uses about 9 cfm at 90 psi so needs to be man enough for that. I would also use an air duster/blower and a tyre regulator but not all at the same time so don't need a huge thing to power more than one tool at a time.

Went to Machine Mart yesterday to buy a set of coil spring compressors as I have a broken rear spring. WOW, what a shop. The place is a real Aladdins Man Cave. Socket sets, hammers, generators, chisels, cement mixers, pressure washers, air compressors, trolley jacks, bench saws, axle stands, grinders, air tools, welding machines. Think of a job to do in the house or on the car and I’ll guarantee that Machine Mart will be able to sell you an appropriately large and/or noisy tool to do the job.
Think of it as a B&Q on steroids and with extra testosterone except without the garden stuff and fluffy interior bits.

It appears to be the same compressor that I've seen in the Draper range and in the Machine Mart range. Its just £100 cheaper than the Machine Mart one and £200 cheaper than the Draper one. Its the same tank shape, same plastic cowling and same size etc.
It's difficult to tell as it is rated only by its motor horsepower rather than the Free Air Delivery (FAD). Although some manufacturers rate their compressors on FAD, some by air displacement and some by motor horsepower. This can be tricky as the tool manufacturers rate their tools by FAD, air displacement or the size of motor horsepower. If one compressor manufacturer rates their compressor as air displacement they don't then rate it in FAD.

Well after doing the spring and a few other jobs on the car myself I figured with the saving in not paying a garage to do it I could treat myself to the above compressor and a few noisey air tools. Haven't got it hooked up yet. They are all the same tooling underneath, even Machine mart do two identical compressors but charge different amounts..... Looks like there is one guy in China building these things and depending on the name on the sticker on the side of the tank governs what the price is.......
