My insurance company is insisting on a tracking device being fitted to my M5 E34 3.6, in order to be covered for Theft.  Anyone know where I can get this done cheap?

Try somebody else and save yourself the money. I'm using Liverpool Victoria for second year. (on road and inner london postcode + 6 points)

Good advice, not all insurance companies want them, and you probably won't get a cheap one anyway, it just depends which model you go for.

Thanks guys - everyone says the same thing so I guess I'll just have to put the effort in and look arround for another insurance co.

I second the Liverpool Victoria suggestion.

£400 for a tracker, plus £100-200 a year to run, all to save £50 a year on your premium - forget it.

In essence you are paying more to save the insurance company paying out as the car will ultimately be recovered if it is stolen.

But isn't that the whole point?

I've got a Tracker fitted, as I want to at least TRY and get my car back as soon as possible, because hopefully it will still be in (almost) one piece!

The little scr*ts that nick Fiesta's and Astra's hopefully won't try my Beemer, but serious thieves might, and it's them I'm trying to guard against.

Wheel lock / Alarm / Immobiliser / Tracker - gives me a fighting chance I hope!!

Just take the M5 badge off the mugs then think its an old E34. Personally dont think the trackers worth it for the price. Still whatever gives a good nights sleep.
