Hello, steve from Plymouth here, i have recently registered and own an E 34 525i se and am having trouble finding reasonably priced tyres as gentleman on main forum page. Remoulds have been suggested (technics) which have a ZR rating has anyone used these or does anyone know of an equivalent tyre size to the metric tyre td 230/55 ZR DUNLOP SP SPORT D40 that will fit.

Steve -

look at Pro Tyres' prices on Falken FK-451.  As a guide, my Z3 runs on 225-45 X 17 front at 80 quid each, and 245-40 X 17 rear at 90 quid.  May daughter's 318Ti uses 235-45 X 17 at 85 quid.

They are excellent hooligan tyres, and wear well into the bargain - on my 2.8 Z3 the fronts have covered 32000 miles, and are about ready to go (very legal though!) and the rears last about 22000 miles.
