Thought this was quite amusing. Only in America!

BRITNEY'S KNICKER BAN

http://www.vogue.co.uk/vogue_daily/story/story.asp?stid=17487 - Louisiana. A proposed new law in her home state will mean girls showing off "intimate clothing" beneath their trousers could be fined £300 or face up to six months in prison. State legislator Derrick Shepherd put forward the Bill because he was fed up with seeing so much underwear on display. "If parents can't do their job, if they can't regulate what their children wear, then there should be a law," he said.

OTHER BANS INCLUDE:

PENNSYLVANIA: Sleeping on top of a fridge outside
CALIFORNIA: Animals mating publicly within 1,500ft of a bar, school or place of worship
OHIO: Women wearing patent leather shoes in public
TEXAS: Taking more than three sips of beer while standing
VIRGINIA: Hunting animals on Sundays - except raccoons
MASSACHUSETTS: Goatee beards unless you pay a fee
OKLAHOMA: Groups of three dogs or more must be licensed

Six months in prison for showing your knickers!! if they introduced that law in Middlesbrough every woman out on Friday/Saturday night would be arrested.

cos the pub owner's don't like smelly feet pong and they say its not 'appropriate dress code' -  don't worry we can't understand it either.

I can understand about smelly feet, but not dress code. That kind of thing gets on my ****.

BTW Whats an 840 like to run cost wise. I have always liked the 8 series but I bet they cost a bit to maintain. Saw a beautiful silver 850 on Saturday. Every bit as nice as a Ferrari if you ask me.

Quote possibly because of glass >> cuts >> insurance

yeah I guess when the fights break out between the bouncer and the person wearing thongs the broken glass could cause cuts. good point.

Quote BTW Whats an 840 like to run cost wise. I have always liked the 8 series but I bet they cost a bit to maintain. Saw a beautiful silver 850 on Saturday. Every bit as nice as a Ferrari if you ask me.

Its no more than a 540 or 740 for common parts & drivetrain. But about 20% more for the custom parts unique to 8.  The 850s are more to run, (2 of everything in the V12...).  The M60/62 blocks pretty reliable. Glad you like the 8, I think its better looking than the new 645Ci, what a razorback.

Quote Oh, and Aussie840, there are places over here where Thongs are footwear....

what places?  i've been to UK & Scotland a couple of times people use to stare at me strange when I wore them in the street.

seeya ian (aka skip)

p.s. i really appreciate a bmw forum that devotes time to discussing thongs. thanks
