635 Light problems

Seem to have a recurring fault on the rear lights on my 635. They work occasionally, or not at all, or won't go off...including the brake lights. This is happening to the nearside cluster only, records show this has been happening since 1999. Any ideas, apart from bridging across from the offside, please? ABS system light and fuel reserve light and offside dash indicator light...these are also playing up...either not working at all or going on and off at will. Yep..nothing untoward there as far as I can see, everything is intact and relatively clean. It has me stumped. I am looking at bridgework as a temporary solution to get the car through the MOT.
