Subject: A "Gordon Ramsay" Moment

I've just found out this morning how useful a water/oil/acid/solvent/impact proof load liner would have been if I had chosen it from the BMW accessories brochure.

My wife calmly mentioned that the bleach bottle leaked whilst carrying the shopping home in the boot yesterday.

I had a Gordon Ramsay moment with her on the front drive.....

Does anyone have any suggestions for bleach stains?bigcry

I think the only thing you can do now is to have the carpet dyed in some way, either in a bath or manually with marigold and a lot of elbow grease.

I looked at Tipking.com and no real solutions shown...but this might help

http://www.designcare.co.uk/retufting_and_patch_repair.htm - ???

This happened once with a milk carton bought from tescos when I had a 405, newish company car.

I complained to tesco, they replaced the carpet in the boot !

Why don't you complain to Domestos or whoever and maybe they will do the same?

Failing that, why not use the existing carpet/liner as a template and get an appropriate colour of suitable carpet and cut round it exactly, so that it can sit on the top of the stained one?

The first thing my wife does when we get a new car is exactly this and when we come to sell the car, the BMW mat is as new.

Thanks for the link, Nostrils, I think that I'll try to spot-dye the marks myself (once I find the right shade of grey).

Thanks for the tip about complaining to the shop, Nigel, but my wife says that she packed the bag wrong - she put the rest of the groceries ON TOP OF THE BLEACH BOTTLE! Angry

...hence my "moment" with her.

If all else fails, I can pick up a load liner to cover it.

Cheers everyone.

Have a look at the Dylon website www.dylon.co.uk - a mate once dyed a pale grey mat black by using cold Dylon dye and a palnt sprayer, so I am sure that with the appropriate colour, you could paint it on to the bleached areas. It is probably worth £2 to try.

Aussie 840....

He's an ex Prof. Footballer, retired young due to injury, went into Cheffing and was very successful.  Now on the TV.  His prog. is more about teaching others to cook or sorting out a bad restaurant, rather than the dull format of the ordinary TV chef set-up.

Famous for swearing a lot at the people he is helping, mainly because some of the people he has to deal with are wall-to-wall idiots.  Gordon is always correct in his assessment, he lets the people know in the language that they understand.  It should suit Australians down to a Tee!!

While in the supermarket the other day I noticed that there was a sign next to the bleach. I was along the lines of once you leave the shop they will take no responsibillity for damage cause by the bottle leaking.

I wonder if any of the staff at Morrisons use this forum? Smiles056

Gordan Ramsey...............top guy.
I thought they wouldn't be able to 'export' his programmes due to the language used.
Loved hells kitchen, knocks BB into a cocked hat (apart from the fight the other night that is!)

I would have thought that the language used would have been perfect for the Australian viewing market...

....but not New Zealand. New Zealand still has a 1970s society and is not quite ready for mass swearing on TV
