New Motoring Law

In order to assist other motorists in identifying potentially dangerous
drivers, it's now compulsory for anyone with a lower than  average
driving ability to display a warning flag (comprising of a red  cross
on a white
background) attached to the top of at least one door of their vehicle.  For
drivers of exceptionally low ability, additional flags are required.

Will an M-Tec version be available on ebay in the future ??

Saw an enthusiastic E46 touring driver groping under his car in the car park last week trying to recover his flag......twenty cars behind him waiting to leave the car park weren't so amused !!!

You travel a lot Peter, which part of Europe is Brazil in ?

And I have two of those cloth flags on my vectra, both on the rear doors, as the windows on those are manual....so I cant forget

What I can't understand is why they've suddenly become so fashionable

Wasn't St Georges's Day back on the 23rd April?

Why weren't they all being flown then?

Simon...It's the power of football.

Still it's good to see and maybe interest in St. Georges's Day will continue to increase.

Its down to good marketing, the average man in the street would not know when St Georges day was anyway.

Oh well, it's all over now.

Just as well BMW owners don't get so uptight about the F1 motorsport results.............. otherwise they'd be trawling round looking for a Ferrari owner to fight !!

Agree with the red flag thing but also have noticed that an abstract fish stuck to a boot signifies that a driver cant go above 20mph.

Re the Fish on the back...It seems to allow the driver to be in any lane they like without any warning whatsoever.

I think it's to indicate they are 'born again' (second time lucky?) and they get away with it because they have a god on their side?

It also means that they must stop at giveway signs even if the road is clear. If you look carefully you can observe the driver. Head remains looking straight ahead as they pull up at the juction, roundabout etc. Once the vehicle is stationary then they look to see if it is clear.  a_smil17

Yeah, but they dont stop for stop signs. By the behaviour of there driving looks like they drink like a fish before getting in the car. At least drink drivers are aware that they're pished and cant drive. problem is that a lot of drive nice new 3 and 5 series. Gives us a bad name, dont u think?

Hell yeah! I close my eyes when i come to a junction!! I find it relaxes me! I also find that turning the engine off is good; it helps me concentrate! where can i get a fish for my car from?

Hey Nigel Can I say 'Fudge'?

You should have seen the footy hooligans in Tunisia.

I'm sounding like my father now, but they were an absolute disgrace, they actually made me ashamed to be wearing an England t shirt.

I watched our final game in the German sector, along with a lot of other English chaps with children.

A bit of banter, a few glasses of grog, and even though they wanted England to lose they were friendly, well behaved, and even shook our hands after the game.

Its not the sort of behaviour I normally see, but after seeing them in action, in a foriegn country, wearing the flag of st george, I can begin to see why I was taking flack for flying the flag on my car !
