In my recent search for a BMW, came across some comments on the rare "X" 3 series with a four wheel drive system.

Can anyone shed any light on why the four wheel drive system is more widely available on the continent than in the UK? Can you buy them in RHD? Anyone driven one?

Just curious as a 330CXi must be one hell of a motor.

Thanks.

There have been E30 325ix and 328ix; E34 525ix and now E46 330xi (dunno about other E46 engine sizes).

Marketing people decided we didn't have extreme enough weather for E46 330xi. S'pose it may also have been due to sales figures for the E30/E34 models being poor..?
