525i SE 1994. My left indicator has come on and will not go off, it just stays on without flashing. It happened after my alarm was deactivated.

Any ideas ,thank you in anticaption

Hi Nigel

The left indicator actually goes out and then comes back and stays on.I had to remove the no 6 fuse,to turn out the indicator.

Thank you for replying

Jmac

There are some very good electrical drawings in the bentley manual, can you get a look at a copy?

Hi Nigel

I actually have a Bentley manual, but I have never been much on the electric side of things.

I gave the car to Sewell BMW today who said it was a indicator relay, but it cost £55 to plug it in to diagnose, then the relay extra. The indicator now works but when I use the alarm now, the left indicator does not come on.

fair enough John, I was going to offer to talk you through the drawings, but I'm glad your ok, apart from the alarm, I was wondering about the output transistor to the indicators as having caused the problem, if you want to take it apart and can tell me the relative part numbers on the transistors, I'll look them up and talk you through the tests using a multimeter

Hi Nigel

Thank you for your offer, but  after looking at the Bentley manual I do not think I would know where to start  with the transistors, even with your help, I think I will get intouch with the BMW garage who replaced the relay.

Looking at the other quires you seem to be very helpful

Regards John
