I'm collecting my 840 Ci Sport - 1999 "T"  60K miles at the end of the month after spending many, many months searching for the right one.  Its Imola red with Imola red insert seats with lotus white outers and trim.  Getting it from BMW dealers with full BMW Used Car warranty & support.

I had wanted a 850 CSi, especially having visited http://www.e31.net - http://www.e31.net  that guy is a true fanatic!!  they so rarely come up for sale in decent condition and late year and low mileage and the running costs seemed prohibitive.  The spec for the 840 is still pretty good and I think I can live with 1 second slower 0 to 62 MPH!.

I was a bit disappointed my new car doesn't have cruise and I wondered how many have this option on them?

Anyway - I look forward to meeting some of you and enjoying soem interesting chat on this forum.  I also own a BMW R1150 RT bike and two 735i SE Auto's, one 1989, 185K miles and still goes like new and one 1991, 125K miles absolutely fully loaded.  Kinda guess I like BMW's!  I've had a 527e lux, 1996 "sharknose" 735i, 520i SE and now the cars above.

Anyone want a run out in the North West I'd be delighted to hear from them.  Regards to you all.

Angus

Hi Angus, Congrats on your purchase.

Most of the local delivered 840s here had cruise and they were all UK spec.  I'm off to Ayres Rock next week with the 8 (no speed limits in the Northern Territory )

If I don't hit a roo at 250km/h I'll post some pics when I get back.

Hi,

Have sent you an email but, I too have just bought an 840Ci Sport, and am really happy that I made this decision. I am - or used to be a Merc enthusiast, but have got a little bored with the ranges in my price range. I started looking at the 840 (from E55) and think these beast have a lot to offer.

Have been to E31.net, and great site but... Not alot else about in the form of help, advise, parts etc. Any good URL's would be appreciated.

Converted...

John

If you have an 840 / 850, please feel free to email me at mailto:E31@jazzysounds.com - E31@jazzysounds.com   - maybe send some piccies etc, and I might start a site up myself.

Guys

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new acquisitions. I'm sure you will not be disappointed. I have a 1995 840Ci which I use as a daily driver and I still can't put it down after 18 months.
