In short, i've lost the centre cover for my alpina wheels. They're not real Alpina's, they're replicas (better word than fake!). Pic:

Anyway, where can I get a replacement? I've a feeling this is going to be a real pain in the neck! It was caused by a mechanic not replacing it properly - one of those 'if you want something done properly, do it yourself' situations!

Most stockets of these wheels will sell the centres, about £6 a piece.

Thanks Paul - do you know of any online stockists?

The wheels came with the car so I have no idea where they came from originally, and the only places on the 'net I've been able to find seem to be selling complete sets!

You're Edinburgh based aren't you...?

Try Ripspeed out at Straiton, Drivers in Glasgow, Demon Tweeks (Mail Order) or the wheel place (whose name escapes me) at Fountainbridge...

Thanks guys. I've tried ebay - nothing!

I tried Ripspeed today - and they mumbled some rubbish about there being loads of different types of replicas so the cant order the centre caps!

I'll try the place at fountain bridge tomorrow. Hopefully they'll be able to do something.

have a look at cooks ferry's site (they're in N London), they normally do Alpina replica parts.

Been a bit too busy to look into this center cap problem of mine (but how it spoils the look of the car!). Anyway, found that cooks ferry sites and emailed them asking if they can help. Thanks!

They do the Alpina replicas for £85 or so each! That's cheap! There must be a gulf in quality between these replica's and the real thing! I imagine the replica's are much heavier, too. I wonder how diferently the car would drive with real Alpinas. Anyone have any experience?

I've just joined (new member) and have been looking for these for the past 2 months. Nobody seem to do them.

Did anybody have any luck in finding them?

Just a thought, but would genuine wheel centres fit the replica alloys?

Dont think genuine ones are the same as they appear to have a proper locking mechanism on them.

I lost one of my centre caps and found nobody stocked the cap like mines. Ended up just treating myself to a new (second hand) set of wheels.

only prob is the old wheels are taking up space in my hut now!

You wouldn't want to sell me your wheel centres would you? (considering they're not the full set)?? And provided they're the right ones of course??

Snap! I had this happen to me twice, Same side but the back wheel. Luckily I found it again, Twice! I had to get a new set of Alpina's coz one of mine was cracked & buckled & I couldn't get a single for love nor money for my car, only E30 & E39. The others were in crap nick so replaced all four. Bloke before me used curbs as a parking guide, when you hear the scrape your parked. I'd lay money on your wheels being BK171's. Mine are & are identical in every way caps included to the old ones. The shops will give you a load of rubbish about depends where they were made & what the number on the back says (neither of which I could find) but just say they are BK's & you should be ok. I'd measure the diameter of the caps you've got & count the pegs just to be safe but more then likely to be BK's. Cant believe people are having so much trouble finding centre caps, lost count of the number of BM's i've seen with Alpina reps. Hope this helps,

Dean.

Where did you get them from in the end?

Mine are 158mm in diameter, were yours the same?

Somebody must have some ideas where I can get a hold of these 2 plastic discs?

Geezer here are a couple of pics of mine, BK's they are!

I measured them 15cm in diameter.

If these are the ones for you, find a dealer at this website http://www.bkracing.co.uk/ - http://www.bkracing.co.uk/

I called around those in Edinburgh and someone had them in stock. Easy as that, £20 inc. badge. Someone wanted to charge me £30 so do phone around.
