AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

runs from the room screaming. Smiles027

I just don't like it. In fact I would rather have a new Golf. I know this kind of talk might get me into bother on this forum but that car is ugly.Thumbs Down_I

-my initial reaction when I saw the pictures in the BMWCC magazine was that it is an ugly slab-sided little spud.

-surprisingly I actually think it looks better in these pictures than the others.

-shades of the Alfa Romeo, in a way.

-might grow on me yet....stranger things have happened....

cheers

I certainly would not mind owning 1, but its not something I would go about hunting - simply because I have not been impressed in terms of appearance with the new (04) BMW's

the front of the 1 series, 3 series and 6 series (and Z4) are not as bad as the rest, in my opinion

But i personally dont like cars that are flat are vertically "flat" at the back, must have the "saloon" appearance , such as the BMW compact editions

Have you seen the new Golf?? It looks like they forgot to "style" the rear of it!

At the end of the day, every single competitor to the 1 suffers from the same probs: The engine is round the wrong way and the wrong wheels drive!

I agree the new golf is hardly an oil painting but it's considerably better looking than the 1 series. At least the golf is kind of non descript. It's the kind of car that you don't really notice. The new one series however is just horrible and definately leaves a lasting impression.

Saw one at the ETCC at Donington (120i).

Not my favourite BMW but looks better in the flesh that in the pictures. Still don't like the curve along the sill.

I like the look of the one series ( only seen the pictures, not the actual car).

I wouldnt go out of my way to buy one, but then again I wouldnt go out of my way to get a golf, focus, or anything of that size.

The cars that most impressed me at the recent motorshow were the Kias, Daewoos, and Hyundais.

Decent warranties, decent prices ( compared to the vauxhall/ford ranges), and when you can get a brand new, medium sized estate car, with elec windows, abs, air con etc, and all for £7000 on the road with a three year unlimited milage warranty, three years free servicing ( again unlimited mileage)....who cares about resale value.

Best Wishes
