I have found the one car that I would trade my 635 CSi for. Not everybody's cup of tea, but its the one American car I really like alot. 1988 Ford America Thunderbird 5.0LX, 302 cubic inch high output V8. So do you own a petrol station then? I can't imagine one of these getting more than about 15mpg If your going to go american then it has to be a ford mustang V8. One from about 1965-1970 or perhaps a dodge charger. ------------- Entering an age of Austerity and now driving a Focus Diesel. |

Having owned American cars before, and now having a BMW 635 that has sat doing nothing since early April, I am at the point of giving up ever getting the 635 back on the road after the major problems experienced and the silly costs of parts. MPG is about even between the two American and the 635, most depends on how heavy the foot is of course. Maintenance on an American is so easy, its childsplay and parts are incredibly cheap and very easy to get in this country. Example...an entire sealed unit brand new digital dashboard for the GTA is $135, one section of PCB for the 635 is a whopping £213 plus VAT. American cars are built better than people expect and are cheap to insure in comparison to similar sized Euro and Jap cars. If I can sort out a deal for the GTA, then I think I shall probably take it, cos as things stand the 635 is not going anywhere apart from the scrapyard if things don't improve very soon.
