I am looking to get a Sat Nav system. As my car is not fitted with one I was considering a portable machine such as the Navman ICN630 which I can use when I change the car (at least a year away). Anyone have any suggestions as to which is the best?

If you can I would recommend trying the Navman and the tomtom software. Both do complete systems you can switch from car to car.

Don't mean to be biast ..I work for a company that sells both and I would highly reccomend the TomTom system especially their new GO standalone GPS

what is the best price for tom tom go atm ?

The price of the GO does vary at the moment ...although it is far better than the Navman system which costs about £800 and is rubbish in comparison ..being a TomTom Disti the RRP is £499.99 ...but people are trashing the RRP at the moment |

Running a GPS system on an iPAQ 1930 will work , however the processor in the 1930 isn't as quick as the other iPAQs and can therefore sometimes be considerably slower in finding areas or planning routes . My advice would be to spend a little bit more money in the first place and get a slightly better system , otherwise you might regret it later . From a user interface aspect the TomTom system is much more friendly and easy to use . The kirrio system on the other hand gives you more choice on what specific area's of the map you can install. If anyone has any specific questions please feel free to ask , I work for a company that sells both the Kirrio and the TomTom , i'm not out ot make a sale but I will gladly answer any questions if I can |

Don't get me wrong i'm sure the kirrio/hp bundle will be ok , its just that my experience of running a 1940 iPAQ with a GPS system , the iPAQ did lock up from time to time and it wasn't quite as quick with finding adresses and planning the route . I would reccomend getting a higher spec pocket PC , but the you will obviously looking at nore money . |
