Intersting to know where peoples points have come from. Bet most are from speeding past fixed cameras. Personally I have no points, wouldnt look good if I did.

court / fine / nothing

Gatsos only arrived here about 3 years ago! (we currently have 22 Gatsos, 3 with film) and a number of unmarked patrols.

Principles are the same as UK - to make money - so much so that our speed trap system is going private!

it is all just a great big money making scheme for them isn't it!!  going to treat myself to one of those road angel gizmos soon.  will be £400 well spent.

did anyone read about the euopean business woman that got the huge fine for speeding?  it was in the paper the other day and it was about £40k.  it's all done in relation to how much people earn where ever she comes from.

at least they haven't thought of that over here yet!!

There's the famous one on the Eastbound N4/M4 going into Dublin, just after the Lucan turnoff where the limit falls from 70 to 50. I don't think that's ever had any film in it....

3 points for me ...stupid thing is i got them in the slowest and most rubbish car i have ever had

Saw something on teletext yesterday that made me giggle..

A speed camera had been stolen by a motorist in Oxfordshire, allegedly.  The Police seem to think the camera, worth over £42000, had probably nabbed the driver doing a spot of speeding and rather than get fined and points, he/she had nicked the camera..oh and its flash unit too..

So, I guess if anyone is offered this camera and flash unit in a pub somewhere, spose the fuzziewuzzies might want it back  lol

Any reason why I'm not allowed to vote in this pole?

For the record, no points, yet.

I've asked Nigel and he says that it is a glitch in the system. You need to speak to Killian and he should sort it.

Killian if your reading this I have PM'ed you.

Well at present im clean as a whistle but in my stupid teens i went full hog with 18 points in 1 go. 1 year ban and 6 points when i got my license (was on a provisional and got clocked doing 105 down the m4, no insurance etc). needless to say since that time i have been fully legal and responsible.

At least i learnt my lesson more so than others I know. I blame smokey and the bandit films personally :) "when i get home i'm gonna smack your mumma in da butt"

went past an unmarked cameravan doing 95, (having been stuck behind some old bint in a metro in the outside lane at 50mph for about 4 miles, put the foot down)
got to pay my solicitor 108 quid for a court letter, and got 5 points and 180quid fine. whoops.
apparently 94 would have got me 3 points and 60 quid, 95 is a court apperance, i think they rounded up myself....

I was quite lucky actually, I was going a lot faster when I spotted the van, the picture he captured must have shown the front end of the car touching the road, as I was braking!

It was coming down the A465 heads of the valleys road, with Alister McRae in front of me in his Hyundai Coupe (Network Q 2001), it was on the news later too that he and a few others had been caught speeding!
