Today I decided to have a pub lunch, just for a change.  So took myself off to one of those well known themed pubs in a nearby town.  Not been there before, walked in, seemed nice enough and went up to the bar to be served...

Now I am not sure whether to call this flattery or not but for the first time ever I was asked to prove my age and ID before the barperson would serve me.  I was somewhat speechless by this request, but dug out the old and slightly worn passport and handed it over.  The barperson opened it, looked at it, then went a lovely shade of beetroot, handed it back full of apologies...lol

Had a lovely chicken tikka and cider..very nice lunch..sadly not on the house, but being mistaken for being under 18 when you are 40 is better than nothing I spose...the barperson was beetrrot colour til I left..poor thing...lol

I remember about 4 years ago, mysel, my wife (then girlfriend) and some of her mates went into a snug in a pub. I was the youngest and mid-twenties.
Anyway, the barman sticks his head in and says "ID please!".
I looked up at him and said "are you serious?"
"Yeah - ID or youre out!"
I then said "how old do you think I am?"
his reply after a few seconds was "30"
He gingerly walked off then

Its quite a nice feeling when someone thinks you are younger than you really are...

Usually people think I am older than I am..not so good then...lol

Today might have had something to do with the fact I had redyed my hair blue/black and added a couple of bright red extensions too, perhaps...I try not to ever act or look my age..stay young for as long as possible....lol

When I saw the number of characters for the sig had been increased I went to change it and to my delight found it had already been changed, thanks Duncan. It's much, much easier to spot.

The register is growing with around 64 cars now, the website has the latest stats. To really get the numbers up I still need to gain the trust of folks in Europe but over time that will happen.

Thanks for everybody who has helped so far and if anybody knows somebody with a Cecotto or Ravaglia please point them in my direction.

Cheers

I have come to the conclusion that this week is a rotten one really..

OK so I was mistaken for a teenager when I am actually 40, but last night I broke my hand, so is now plastered to the elbow and got to have it sorted properly on Monday morning..

So I won't apologise for spelling mistakes, cos I got a really good excuse...

My hand hurts  lol

I broke 7 bones in my hand/wrist after going base over apex last night...and no, there was no help from alcofrol either lol

Just means I will be very easy to spot at Beaulieu on Sunday....6ft tall, black/blue hair with bright red extensions...and left arm in plaster  lol

I will not be at Beaulieu. It takes too long to hack down there, and Rory would be on his last legs if we tried it all the way from Aldenham, Herts...

Constructive vandalism only from me.... unless it's Gary's sig How's the register going anyway - thought the new link would be easier to spot.

I must admit I had a go at garys ages ago, either he's thumped you, hasnt noticed, or is waiting until Gaydon to clout me !!
