Hi Simatic I'll be heading down to Cork on Tuesday night and going back on Thursday night, just going home to get four new tyres and give the car a polish. I will be back in Cork the following week but won't have my car with me as I'll have the family in tow if the meet is around then I might try and meet up,if not it might give me and excuse to go back home again

@ Topazman - drop me a line if you want to meet up - I'll PM my mobile and will send it to you too Simatic. We might try to meet up on Wed night?

Regarding a full blown meet, I'm not going to be in Cork for the next 6 weekends so it'll be mid September before I'm around.

Early Sept probably isn't the best for me if I'm planning on doing the Galway run and staying down for a few days.Have to find the cash again.

Obviously, we don't want to clash with the Galway Run.  But we also want to make sure we have some chance of the summer still being around.

Looks like we have a bit of interest alright.

I'll get cracking in sending around a few PMs to others I know are interested too before we decide on a date.

After the success of the last one I'm sure we'll get a few more again.

Hi,

We are looking at the October Bank Holiday weekend (Sat 23rd or Sun 24th Oct) for our next Cork Meet.

Please note that the BMW Owners Club Track Day is on the weekend before.

There is good interest so far and I am PM’ing everyone else who attended and showed an interest in the original meet at the start of the summer.

How does this suit, and have you any suggestions for locations?

KenG (aka Simatic)

Evening all,

It's very hard to arranged a date, even almost impossible,

to say the least, without somebody not been able to make it. The 24th seems to suit the majority of people.

Correct me if wrong, but I think that we have been trying to get this meet organised for what , three months or more, now if we go changing the date again, who knows we may not get another meet

this side of christmas. So............. are we still on for next weekend

24th ? anyone come up with a meeting place and time.

SorryAdrian/Tom no pun intended.

Lads,

It's been suggested that we keep to a fairly similar route to the last time as we have so many newbies on the run ending up with a few (non-alcoholic) drinks at Inchadonny, but we are still open to suggestion.

Sunday the 24th is the date of choice.  If people are interested I will enquire with Kevin O'Learys if we would be welcome to meet there, otherwise i think we'll meet at the usual spot.  Please PM me for the meeting point.

@Tom:  Sorry about the date.  As Neil said we've been trying to find a date that suits everyone for the last few months.  As it happens, even though I've played a part in orginising both ithis and the last Cork meet, both weekends didnt exactly suit me either.  This weekend hase worked out the most popular.  As Adrian suggested, you'll get vito on the dates next time.

See you Sunday!

KenG

CONFIRMED:

Charlesfort, 1 pm, Sunday 24th Oct '04

See you all there.  (I'll PM everyone that showed an interest as soon as I get a chance)

We can decide on the route on Sunday.  (Anyone with satnav yet?)

@KenA:  Will Finbar have the respray done for Sunday?

@Topazman:  I'll bring the digital camcorder so we'll have video footage too.  There might be a reason KenA has bald rear tyres.  I'm starting to sound like a boy racer... NNOOOOOOO!!!!!

Finbarr is not too sure if the car will be ready for Sunday but if not, he'll be along in his e30 325.

The bald tyres were off the front from my tracking being so far out. Might just put them on for Sunday !!! Then again maybe not ....the last thing we want is a trail of boy racers and flashing blue lights !!!!

Lads,
I've had to go back to Dublin for family reasons, but if people are still up for it, I'll continue orginising and contacting people to arrange Sunday despite the weather.
Up to yesterday the attendance list was as follows:
Richie
T.J.
KenA
Finbar
Finbar's mate #1
Finbar's mate #2
AHEALY
NEIL 323
ciarangtr
Freddie
If people wanted an alternative day what about two weeks time on Sunday 7th Nov?  Hopefully we would get better weather as this weekend is a disaster.

So far, I make it:
Me
Ken G
TJ
Neil 323ise
Possibly Vincent Donnelly

Dont think Finbarr can make it.
The weather is looking good though.
Do you guys wanna still meet ?

PS....TJ...if you're gonna go on the English Forums, you might wanna remove the "is" bit of your sig in 328is. lol

The 328is was available in the states only. There wasnt 328is released in Europe....here it was badged 328i.
The 328 sport has MTech front and rear bumpers, sports seats with the extended thigh supports, black roof cloth ( the only proper way to tell a sport from a replica IMO ).

Still though TJ , your car looks pretty hot as it is anyway.
