I fitted an alpine 6 stack cd system to my 520(in to the place provided) being there for 4mts or so ,every cd i play I get this squeal in the backround, tape deck and radio are perfect N.B. the noise increases with the revs....................... how nice!! has anybody come across this before? Is there a cure ? ------------- bf |

Sounds like the CD changer/cable shield needs earthing correctly ?

There should be an earthing point on the Cd-changer and also an earthing tab on the cd-changer cable ?

It could simply be that the autochanger cable is running close to some other wiring. When I put mine in I made sure the autochanger cable was clear of any other wires. I had a similar problem in a car I had where the speakers were powered by an amplifier. I got a high pitched squeak through the speakers that increased with engine revs. I had run the power supply for the amp and the stereo outputs together down one side of the car. Once I separated them the problem went away. BTW I removed the passenger seat and ran the autochanger cable down the middle of the passenger side under the carpet. That way it doesnt interfere with any of the other wiring. ------------- Entering an age of Austerity and now driving a Focus Diesel. |
