Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a 2 year old (E46) 325 or 330 saloon, pref. the sport model.  I was wondering if anyone could give me advise on any diff. in fuel consuption between the two. (book says not) and also just how good bad is the MPG.  BMW say combined of 30mpg...sound about right???

Any advise on things to look out for, bad points/good points would be very much appreciated also!

I'm hoping if the difference in insurance between the two is small then I should def. go for the 330 (this is what my heart wants anyhow!!)

Cheers,

BigC

Hi,

I'v just recently upgraded from a 96 323i Coupe' (2.5 24V) to a 330ci Sport Coupe'  MPG travelling during rush hour type traffic is about the same if not slightly better getting about 280-300 miles from a tank (63L) Not sure what that equates to in mpg.  Motorway driving gave me an extra 50 miles to the tank.

Insurance was more but considering the increased value of the car an extra £250/yr was not too bad.

Hope this helps towards choosing the 330 Sport.  Well worth it if you can afford it

I have a E46 325Ci. I tend to get about 35mpg at 80ish mph on long motorway runs. Local driving, I get about 30mpg. Thought about a 330 but the difference in day to day performance is negligible for the extra cost of insurance. After owning two 318iS (E36 - one four year old fab, one one year old dog), this is by far the best car I've owned. Looking forward to the new 635Ci though ......

Hi, I have just recently purchased a 325ci sport with the SSG gearbox, the fuel consumption on the car is around town is about 21.9 thats what it says on the computer. Is the SSG gearbox using more???? Anyways i drove the 330ci with the SSG gearbox aswell, I found both fairly the same except the exhust note on the 330ci sport its alot more deeper but hey love the responce on the 325ci sport, does anyone know if it is possible to do launch control on this gearbox if so please tell!!!

Thanks in advance!

Vick
