A mate has a Z3M, and he said it was about 320 ish bhp. Asked him if he thought about gettting it chipped the last time I saw him.. He said he didn't want to kill himself, as it was powerfull enough now.. Have mentioned this site to him, but haven't seen him around so far. Edited by Rhys |

Peter, Just had a look through performance BMW mag and the Z3M had the same engine as the E36 M3 evo 3.2 straight six but developing 325bhp compared to 321bhp for the evo - so no it wasn't detuned Paul |

Sorry for the come down, but still pretty damn quick if you ask me - 0-60 5.8sec approx, 155 mph and 310bhp! Still must be good fun! Paul |

..Oooo, bringing back the M1? Now that would look good (as long as Bangle has nowt to do with it and they stick to the origional shape, like Ford has with the new version of the GT40). Ah, but wait, they mean the new 1 series don't they.. What a come down... |

I thought they did, at least a little bit anyway. I know when the E46 M3 came out the Z3M got the engine but detuned to 325bhp.

Just seen a copy of autocar from 14 dec issue talking about the new M6, and saw an article about large possibility of an M1 with 3.0 ltr lump from new 630i developing 310 bhp, which I would think just may shut JC up for a bit anyway! Also liked the sound of an M7 but didn't like the sound of a Z4M with a detuned 4.0l V8 from the M3 as they never detuned the engine from the Z3M, taken from the E36 M3 (or at least I don't think they did anyway) Paul |

That was the highlight of the show for me! Would have been more interesting if the A2 quattro was fitted with tarmac setup, and the stig got to drive that too, it was the owner John Hanlon who drove it, but you can't have a 20 year old car beating an evo! |

Didn't JC have an old CSL, then sold it. Bit miffed that they are worth a lot more than he sold it for now. Can't remember exact details, but it was mentioned on the show thet tested the M3 CSL on.

We just learned that they spent 500,000 on the Gallup organisations Q12 - Employee Engagement Survey. (very american) This is where we all get a letter with a unique pin number, we then have to ring a call centre and tell them how strongly we agree/disagree to 12 statements/questions. Totally confidential I must add. First statement is "I enjoy working for Network Rail as a company" or something to that effect .... press 5 if you strongly agree .... 1 if you disagree, etc. Third statement; "I have a best friend at work" ... eh?????? |

For a fan of "The League of Gentlemen", it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something suitably surreal.... |
