thank you for your kind words, but Davy is a fair distance from me too and it entails me taking a day off work to visit him to fix and maintain my car also..As you have only just said, the circumstances don't suite you during the week or a saturday, which is fair enough.
The suggestions of a saturday visit weren't replied to so, I am only going by the aforementioned posts in the thread, which made me see red prior to your kind words. I've already taken 3 days off this year to get work done on the car at Davy's and I am an entirely satisfied customer who thinks he should get nothing but praise for his work.(top bloke too) A failure to reply to suggestions doesn't help matters either as it has only clouded the issue in my view.
so everyone knew you couldn't make it on a saturday without actually posting a reply to the question of a saturday visit in the thread |

Davy is brillant. I had trailing arm bushes and a ball joint done to my E36 the other week, and i was there the whole time while he carried out the work chatting to him. He told me he charges £35/hour and £30/hour to club members which is excellent.

I get my M6 serviced and MOT for £200 at (ex main dealer trained) RTS Motors in Huddersfield. A bit far for the lads in Scotland, but a great job at a great price. Main Dealer cost is around £650 for the same work.
I have tried lots of service agents, official and otherwise before settling on this one. |

That's got to be one of your most abrasive / downright irritating posts yet I like Davy and respect his business and work. The club in Scotland is very grateful for all his support and we hope he gets the business to reward him for his investment in us. However his total service proposition simply does not suit me in this instance. "Slap in the face"? I think not. Please don't pass comment on a decision you know very little about. |

I do indeed but I like to get prices anyway so I get a feel for what's on offer. Have booked the Stirling garage as I was pleased with them on a previous job, they're local so i can work from home, they can sort my MoT too and they take plastic. |

Not remember your incident with the clutch? And the slight mishap with my first E60? Granted I know why you want to take it there. Made your mind up yet where you are going to take it? Andrew |

He's not including valve clearances in that price. Worth a call to clarify?

from personal exp the Ibrox Indy doesn't include VAT on his quotes and he charges £45 per hour labour although he does offer you the chance to pay cash and wave the VAT but then that's without invoice. I'm no mathematician but £45 @ 5hrs = £225 and that's before parts, so something definitely doesn't add up. |

If that assumption is correct it would make a bit more sense. If not then the Ibrox quote is definitely "awfy cheap" |

100% sure about the dealer and Stirling quotes including VAT. Got to assume the Ibrox one doesn't. |
