Aye twas a good day Dunc - "Yah - heesjh is my co-pilot and alsho my lover!"
Wee Z should be going much better at the next outing what with a few extra bhp.. sorted brakes and front-rear balance/roll improved.. still haven't found anything cheap on the track alloy/rubber front but getting there..
Bye boys!

Hi Dunc, will do.
Spoke to Ian @ MMV & he def' recommended EBC over Pagid set up.. I'm going for Red Stuff ceramics at the front with metallic Red Stuff pads at the rear, married to their sport and grooved rotors (325mm front & 312mm rear approx).. £399 supply & £50 fitting charge - so 450 including VAT.
Alternative is Red Dot or Tar-Ox.. I think Red Dot hasn't got any better record than EBC & Tar-Ox are more expensive with little by way of conclusive proof that it's a better set up.. They offer their new XF ceramic pad range. EBC stuff is getting a lot of use out there on track days and they seem the most keen to filter in feedback to produce new products for us guys.
These pads are of course compound with ceramic trace rather than the mega-expensive ceramic pads used in racing & being fitted by Porsche, Merc & Ferrari BUT there still a move in the right direction (I've seen write-ups that give the standard 'M3-spec' set up no more than 3 laps on a tight twisty track (e.g. Knockhill) & that's better than what's on the ZeeMs and non M cars. Crail not such a problem as your terminal speed is never that high to need really heavy retardation but it still gives you a lot more confidence when breaking before your turn-in.
If you intend to do lots of track work then you'll need a more hard core calliper conversion - otherwise you should be okay with what I'm using & most likely non ceramics will suffice - perhaps using Ferodo metallic DS2500s, which have come well recommended (on the M Power forum) over the last few months..

Good idea but my days as a model are now behind me.. said Elton!
Wee M should be set up for some photos at next meet Dunc - which reminds me - just got a flier from Crail regarding dates - we need to decide soem at next meet lest face disappointment.. plan B being to go to Knockhill in force at one of the hot-hatch evenings. Crail is also running figure-8 track days alongside the drag.. could be fun.. nitros anyone?
Photos wise - what we need is come WOMEN.. calling all BMW girlies.. come out.. come out to play!

Gents
I dont think I have any silly piccys of me, I tend to take the pictures/videos within the family as I'm daddy, so I get to play with the toys !!!
I will be attending some meets this year, starting with Rockingham, so no doubt some joker will furnish you with them, especially as I have had so much fun with this one.
I doubt that Gary actually has the bottle to carry this one over to the mag, Dunc has always described him as a bit of a wus, so I guess Mr Blur is safe !!!!!!
No doubt my turn will come !!!
