Yeah, I know, I'm a boring fart but my licence took me a year at night school and then seven years of home study to get to where I am. Much as you're my mate, I'm not getting involved in supplying to non licenced people. Oh aye, and I wouldn't want you to pay the huge fine and have the minimum of 6 months in prison as a result of radio spectrum abuse. Mind you, its only a 2 day course to get a Foundation Licenece nowadays

Of course, it's mandatory - and you must all sing 'Convoy'. p.s. just remember that you can't go 'over and out'.

Andrew, I thought you, out of everyone would understand that this is far removed from the "slack jawed yokel" language used by CB radio enthusiasts. That, and I thought it was funny.

OT - back in the 'good old days' when I had to drive over 50 miles to work - from Kent to Greenwich - I was one of the first with a [illegal ] AM CB radio - found it invaluable to ease the tension - and have a chat of course with all the other naughty boys
Then 'they' introduced the legal FM radio - so I got a licence and tried that - bl00dy useless bit of kit with a range of about 500 yards, so had the FM set on show, the AM set hidden, and a 'stealth' aerial - worked a treat. p.s. we all had 'handles' of course - never used our real names - oh what fun .... 10-10

I just knew that someone would ask that question .... well, it wasn't 'thepits' it was long before those days it was back in the early days of motor-race marshalling, when certain specialities had to wear special clothing. ... so, off you go - Google time 10-10 Edited by thepits - 06-February-2013 at 15:29 |
