Jay,
Same question from me - E39 M5 2001. What power and (as importantly) torque improvements should I expect.
Is the torque curve extended/flattened?
Also what would be the cost - I would presumably have to come to Essex for the remap - I live in Salisbury. Please pm me if you prefer.
I had a superchip fitted to my Z1 - did I waste my money???
Regards
STEPHEN B

Its hard for me to knock another companies goods as it could be a case of mine is better than theres to gain sales in some peoples eyes but if you look at ANY of the rolling road days held by the e36coupe you will see who always comes top out of viper2 and superchips.
As for your car, your looking at 13hp and 14lbft.
This is not going to be mega noticable in an already awesome car but it will be noticable.
You will get 2mpg better fuel consumption.
I am in birmingham and will need the car for an hour to do the work and the cost would be £125.

OK, I'll bite too, I'm intrigued -- I have an E38 750, an E24 635 (series 1), a Z1 and an E21 323i -- which of those are chippable/mappable.
I sense a serious wallet hoovering coming on...

Hiya Jay,
I'm new on this site and am interested in possibly chipping my '99 E39 523 Touring. As i've already discovered elsewhere this engine is de-tuned. Can i get an increase in MPG, power and or Torque, if so what kind of figures and how much? Sorry if i'm going over old news but i really would love to pep the old girl up a bit.
All the best mate. Mickeyboy

Near Portsmouth,
Have you any idea what gains there would be, and if i had better economy would i lose power over the standard output?
Cheers Mickeyboy

I told you the Bilstein kit is good , do you have instructions to follow for the Chip installation ? The only problem i had was that you have to get the top circuit board at about a 45 degree angle to the lower one before it will unlatch, at this point the connecting wires are really strectched and i was worried that i was going to break them And don't worry about breaking the tabs of the ECU case.....

I have read some info from e34.net. Are these the instructions you are talking about??
Andrew
P.S The car sits lower now as I had hoped, I think it looks much better, even a little smaller than it did. It corners great.

Chipped UK,
Big expense on car - 2 tyres and sort out exhaust dut to rubber breaking during caning phase and dragging on the ground The only good bit is that exhaust still whole but some repairs are needed! I am looking to come up to have it chipped beginning of January!

The instructions you mention are a bit over simplified and miss out of few steps...But i am sure you'll be able to work out what you need to do

I have a '94 540 auto can it be re mapped to improve consumption. Goes like stink so not to bothered about performance but latest contract means many miles and ££££££'s on fuel. I really dont want to have to sell.
Also have '96 320 manual what improvements overall can be achieved.
Cheers
